Training on Safety and Security Issues for Female Journalists

Within the long term commitment of UNESCO to promote safety for journalists, UNESCO Dhaka Office in association with the Institute of Communication Studies (ICS) are organizing a training on “Safety and Security Issues for Female Journalists” from 16-18 March 2017 at the Center for Disability in Development, Savar.

The training is exclusively designed for female journalists of the prime media entities of Bangladesh. The objective of the training is to enhance the knowledge and skills of female journalists to stay safe in challenging situations while reporting conflict and to discuss the self-protection mechanism as defined in the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity.

UNESCO Dhaka supported the translation from English into Bangla of the UN Plan of Action on the Safety of Journalists and the Issue of Impunity in 2016, which serves as helpful course material during the training.
